WHAT IS SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY?
At VanCity Physio, we offer customized, one-on-one treatment plans that will help you get back to the activities you love. Our Sports Physiotherapy department is dedicated to the assessment and treatment of injuries related to sports and exercise at all levels and ages. Sports injuries can cause ongoing pain if not treated properly. Similarly, re-injury is common in sports injuries so dedicated treatment is recommended to avoid further injury.
IS SPORTS PHYSIOTHERAPY RIGHT FOR YOU?
If you’ve recently suffered a sports-related injury, such as a sprain, strain, ligament tear, concussion, compression, or more, you should be considering a sports physiotherapy treatment plan. Re-injury and chronic pain are common in untreated sports injuries, so the quicker you address the problem, the more effective your recovery will be.
Here are some common injuries that sports therapy can treat:
• Sprains
• Tennis elbow
• Golfer’s elbow
• Meniscus tears
• Rotator cuff or shoulder injuries
• Runner’s knee
• ACL or knee ligament sprains
• Groin strain
