WHAT IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?
Chronic pain and inflammation caused by issues in the bone, tendon and soft tissue can be challenging to live with. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is an effective treatment for lingering injuries and pain resulting from illness. This non-invasive treatment applies a series of low-energy sound pressure waves to mechanically stimulate the body's natural healing process.
It is performed in combination with other physiotherapy treatments, and results in immediate and long-lasting pain-relief and reduced inflammation caused by chronic conditions, helping patients to resume their regular activities.
IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?
Focused shock wave therapy is a highly effective treatment option for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and soft tissues injuries experiencing chronic pain.
Benefits of shockwave therapy include:
• Immediate and lost-lasting pain-relief
• Reduced inflammation and discomfort
• Accelerate healing
• Restored mobility
• Decreased calcification found in tendons/soft-tissues post injury or surgery
• Scar breakdown/mobilization
Vancity Physio's vast knowledge brought me great results. When I began working with them I was on crutches, and today I am so much stronger and can function so much better. I feel that I have jumped leaps and bounds, and I am very excited to utilize my new knowledge.
My therapist put a great deal of time and effort into my rehabilitation, and gave me the tools I needed to move onward and forward.
I recently suffered an injury from playing sports. I had a lot of trouble walking without pain but working with Vancity Physio helped me quickly return to what I love doing most. Injuries don't just affect a person physically, but can take an emotional toll. Having a physio who is knowledgeable in their practice, patient with explaining my condition and being personable to work made all the difference in my full recovery.— Fiona Chiu
I attribute my personal physical success to Vancity Physio's knowledge, personality, and example. Vancity Physio has played a pivotal role in my journey to healing my back after a car accident in 2017. Their positive attitude and ability to build instant rapport with each of his clients constantly amazes me.
Their dedication to solving the mystery behind my injury and constant support in advocating for my health has been a necessary component to the success I've had treating this injury.
I trust Vancity Physio fully with this injury and I will undoubtedly be visiting any time I need to see a physiotherapist in the future. Do yourself a favour and book in now!— Gabrielle D.
